If you're in the market for a new table saw, you might want to take a look at this article and give it a quick read. Alternatively, you can look at metal miter saws, depending on what you are trying to cut.

Buyer's Guide: Things To Consider When Buying A Table Saw

When you're searching for the best table saw, here are the most important things to consider.

  • Material Used

The material used in the production of the table saw is an important consideration to look into. The materials used in its build will determine the amount of weight. Hence, the abuse it can withstand before breaking down.

  • Stability

The stability of your saw is also important. A table saw needs to be stable to ensure safety and precise cutting during use. You should check the legs of the table saw stand for stability. It should be a bit offset or facing towards the bottom. This ensures the stand has a wide base. This will prevent wobbling and add a new dimension of stability to the table saw.

  • Storage space

This is a new feature now but there are table saw stands that come with onboard storage space. It would help to keep your other minor tools as well as table saw accessories. But, you might need to open and extend the table saw stand to view this feature.

  • Portability

Depending on the features you want, some table saws are more portable than others. This has nothing to do with the size and weight of the stand. It can be important in some cases, but with some of the features they come with, it doesn't matter. Some table saws have folding legs which makes it quite small and portable enough to package and move around. Some portable table saws also come with wheels. Also, It comes with a convenient pulling handle for easy transportation.

The Bosch 4100-09 10-Inch Worksite Table Saw manufactured by Bosch - a household name in the power tools category. This table saw has a couple of features that stand out, including a large table surface with an accurate rip fence. It runs on a stunning 15-amp electric motor that can generate as much as 4HP and then rotates at 3,650 RPM. The Bosch 4100-09 10-Inch Worksite Table Saw is amazing in its rip capacity for making rip cuts. It has 24 inches rip capacity and an arbor lock mechanism for ease of changing the blade.

The Square Lock Rip Fence is another feature that sets the Bosch Table Saw apart from its competitors. This Rip Fence, made out of machined aluminum slides up and down the rail without a hitch. Also, fixing new positions with it is very easy. You also get a 40-tooth blade that's made out of carbide. This is a great table saw to buy and the company producing it is known for quality power tools. You won't have any problem using the Bosch 4100-09 10-Inch Worksite Table Saw.

PROS CONS
Made in a portable construction that is suitable for any worksite irrespective of design. The fence has slop on the far side and there seems to be no adjustment for this.

  1. DEWALT DWE7491RS

If you prefer the DIY approach, you need something that is fast and flexible. The DIY approach today is super convenient. In today's world, it has made it easier for anyone to access projects that you can do as DIY. All it takes is access to the internet and you will be able to do most of these projects yourself. This table measures 26 x 22 inches which should be enough for most applications. The saw can make cuts ranging in depth from 3-1/8-inch at 90 degrees, to 2-1/4-inch at a 45-degree angle.

To be able to cut through wood with such force, a table saw needs to have a powerful motor at its core. This one delivers because it features a 15-amp motor. As with most advanced table saws, the amount of dust you end up creating can be insane. The DEWALT DWE7491RS has a 2-1/2-inch dust port at the back end of the unit as well as a 1-1/2-inch dust port off the top of the blade. The dual capability means you can capture dust both above and below the blade leaving your work surface clean at all times. This could be a game-changer for your shop depending on the volume you go through daily. One thing we also love about this Dewalt table saw is its rip capacity figure: a whopping 32-1/2 inches!

Handling such large rip pieces can often be tricky. They are long and heavy which means they can break, or even tip the saw over. But, this one has a rail extension that allows you to handle even the largest cuts. Still, to be completely safe, remember to ask someone for help when working with large sheets of wood. The safety measure of this power tool is also top-notch. There is a new power switch installed with this model along with a Power Loss Reset. This is useful in case of a power outage or when you forgot to unplug the power cord. Or any other interruption that could lead to loss of functionality or cause harm. The table saw will have automatic reset and won't come back on until power restores.

  1. Grizzly G0690 Cabinet Table Saw

This is the gold standard for ten inches left tilting saws. It bears (no pun intended) the workmanship that the Grizzly brand is known for and it should last a lifetime. You’ll appreciate its four-inch dust collection port, T slot miter gauge, and magnetic switch. As well as the heavy cast handwheels, riving knife, and the Camlock T fence. The assembly of the Grizzly is more time-consuming than with other cabinet table saws we reviewed. But besides that, we were pleased to have this addition to our workshop.

This muscular table saw can cut through 2" thick mahogany wood like it was bread. Running with heavy-duty trunnions along with a steel cabinet makes it the go-to tool for any workshop. If you're used to a table saw with less power, switching to the Grizzly G0690 will be a super upgrade. The G0690 features a very potent 220-volt Single Phase 3 HP Leeson triple belt drive motor. This remarkable motor delivers about 4,300 RPM of arbor speed. The motor is a powerful 3 HP, single-phase motor (Leeson Triple belt drive). It is capable of outputting plenty of power even for the most demanding projects.

We love the performance of the G0690. It doesn't disappoint every time we brought it out to use and this made the cutting quite pleasurable. It's well designed and it takes care of safety with the help of its magnetic switch. Assembling this table saw is a huge task on the flip side. And we understand why so many new users often complain about this area. But, once you get over this stage, the performance will wow you and win you over.

PROS CONS
The Grizzly G0690 has a powerful 220-volt Single Phase 3 HP triple belt drive motor. A bit difficult to set up.
Produces smooth, clean, even and accurate cuts regardless of the wood involved.
Well designed table structure with adequate height.

  1. Delta Power Tools 36-6020 10"Portable Table Saw

Delta Power Tools 36-6020 10″ Portable Table Saw has a different feel to some of the heftier powerful table saws with the emphasis on the stand. But, it still promises power with the 15 amp motor and strong construction with its steel and aluminum parts. This table saw has come a long way to become a user-friendly tool. It has features such as cord wrap, easy-access power switch. Also, it has the position of the blades during retraction. We could consider it a game-changer. The ease of use and lack of mess it causes during operation ensures it stays as one of those few table saws with rave reviews on user-friendliness and portability. Transportation of this saw is no hassle as well, thanks to its wheels.

Delta 36-6020 doesn't create a whole lot of mess during use. Its theme of user-friendliness and portability is why it's so revered in the woodworking circles in America. But, there is more to the Delta 36-6020 than user-friendliness. The quality of its cut is also superb as it offers a clean-cut. Hence, along with a smooth performance that creates a level of consistency that's needed for quality finished projects.
PROS CONS
The quality of the cut is superb and the good part is it's not dependent on the saw used. Assembling the product is not easy due to the manual. The quality of the instructions and the photos used are not well synchronized. It makes it confusing.
The Delta 36-6020 is well suited for users of varying abilities and not only for experienced users. It's also difficult to adjust the stand which is required to make the saw level.

  1. Rousseau 2790 Table Saw Stand for Larger Portable Saws

The Rousseau 2790 Table Saw Stand for Larger Portable Saws is a great saw. It's known for its versatility and it is a great option for those who need a stand that combines good size with workspace and functionality. The Rousseau 2790 is an advanced table saw that will please anyone who uses it irrespective of their woodworking levels. Its parts come from high-grade materials with folding legs for portability. Also, it has tons of workspace for you to operate on. The high-grade metal construction of this table saw is quite impressive. We love the fact that it has a rip fence miter slot.

It is quite heavy and difficult to move around due to the lack of wheels. What it lacks in mobility, it makes up for in functionality. The Rousseau 2790 can accommodate various models made by Bosch, GTS, Sawstop, Makita, and DEWALT. So, even if you have more than one table saw, chances are that they will both be able to mount on this stand.

There is also the fact that your table saw gets mounted to the bottom of this stand. This is because it has its own tabletop. The point is that mounting your table saw on, or rather under this stand, is very easy.

  1. Ridgid R45161 15-Amp 10 in. Compact Table Saw

The Ridgid R45161 15-Amp 10 in. Compact Table Saw has an appealing look with the right features in the right places. It's lightweight and portable. It comes with wheels, which is a relief after the previous table saw reviewed before it. You get to have the best of both worlds with the Ridgid R45161 15-Amp 10 in. Compact Table Saw. This table saw uses a carbide-tipped 40-tooth combination blade that is good but not spectacular. Ridgid R45161 can make clean cuts but more on the basic dimensional pine. It has a rigid "dual-locking rip fence" that is quite high and well made but it's not as accurate as it should be. You might have to tweak and tinker the fence to get it to the level you want. We also feel the Ridgid R45161 15-Amp 10 in. Compact Table Saw could use a longer cord. Also, an improvement on the dust collection port to support the minter guide.

PROS CONS
A well-built and sturdy unit that is portable and lightweight. It has a thick and high dual-locking rip fence which can be frustrating to use at times.
Easy to transport. Difficult to change the blade.
It has a strong miter guide which is accurate.
Great for intermediate woodworkers.

The G0651, manufactured by Grizzly Industrial, which is one of the largest machinery companies in America. This table saw features heads sliding rails and an adjustable gab plates. Weighing over 716 pounds, the G0651 is a DIYer's dream. The G0651 Heavy-Duty Cabinet Table Saw is one of the best options at its price point. It has strong support legs which were not tapped deep enough - making the table sky high. You can fix it by cutting down the screw in bolts on the legs. What you get from the Grizzly G0651 is a well built and sturdy table saw with an excellent fence. Running hardwood through this table saw will be like cutting through butter. If there is any disadvantage with this table saw, it has to be the amount of real estate it requires in a shop.

PROS CONS
It's solid-built with an excellent fence. It requires a lot of real estate in the shop where it would be used. Measuring 38 x 30 x 41.2 inches, it's not the largest on our list but it takes up a large space of a room.
It comes with a digital readout for angles.
Well suited for cutting through large pieces of hardwood.
